Wizard Island

Wizard Island is a cinder cone that rises above Crater Lake on the west side of the lake. The top of Wizard Island reaches to 6,933 feet above sea level and about 755 feet above the surface of Crater Lake. Access to Wizard Island is only available to the public during the summer months when boat tours on Crater Lake are operating. These boat tours depart from the city of Cleetwood Cove located at the north side of the lake. Then the tours end in Governors Bay on the south side of Wizards Island. Wizard Island has a sparse covering of trees. As well as two hiking trails.
Devil's Backbone

Devil's Backbone is an andesitic dike located on the northwest rim of crater lake. A dike is formed when molten rock fills a crevice then cools. Then the surrounding rock is then eroded away leaving the rigid formation. Devil's Backbone is 50 feet wide as well as reaching up to 1300 feet high. Devil's Backbone is the largest dike on Crater Lake's rim as well as being the only dike on the rim that reaches from the top of the rim to the water.
Pumice Castle

Pumice Castle is a formation made up of pink and orange pumice. It formed in an eruption 70,000 years ago only to be buried by Redcloud Cliff. But after the caldera collapsed it was exposed. Pumice Castle is located on the east rim of the Crater Lake caldera.
